Admission Information

Students who are interested in the alternative high school program must contact their respective home school counselor before any application is submitted to the Thomas J. Rubino Academy (TJRA).

All referrals to TJRA must be authorized by the local school district. Districts can contact TJRA to obtain an admissions packet. Upon completion of the application, the sending district must contact TJRA to schedule an intake interview for placement consideration.

Admission Requirements

Student admission to the program will be based on the following factors:

  • Student must demonstrate a readiness and willingness to participate in the program

  • Candidate must be a high school student.

  • Placement is based on District Availability.

Interview Process

The student, parent(s)/guardian(s), and a representative from the Thomas J. Rubino Academy will meet to assess the student’s appropriateness for enrollment. A participating home school counselor may attend the interview.

Upon completion of the interview process, the participating home school district will be notified of the student’s acceptance in the program.
